Per Herngren is active in the plowshares movement which nonviolently disarms weapons using hammers inspired by Mike 4:2-4, beat sword's into plowshares. He received an eight-year sentence in the United States for a plowshares disarmament, and he served fifteen months in eleven prisons before being deported to Sweden. In Sweden and England, he has received prison terms for similar disarmament.
Per has been giving civil disobedience and nonviolence trainings in Iraq, Kyrgyzstan, Kurdistan, Turkey, Chile, Ecuador, Guatemala and in Europe.
